Mother's Day
I think mothers are the most wondeful creatures on Earth. Being a mother is all about sacrifice, right from the first day of pregancy. In the process of bringing us up, they sacrifice their looks, figure, social life and their freedom. They do not ask for anything in return and have to tolerate all our nonsense as well. I think that a parent's love is the purest of all, with no strings attached. It's really all about giving and not expecting anything in return. If there ever is a word to define love, I think it has to be the word sacrifice.
I celebrated Mother's Day by going to a concert at the Esplanade with my family. I thought my sister bought the tickets but it turned out to be a free concert on a first come first serve basis. The singers were of my parents' generation and sang mostly oldies throughout the one hour concert. I do not know whether it is a good thing that I actually know most of the songs that they are singing. I feel that classic songs have a certain charm about them and their lyrics have a certain sophisication about them that can't be found in today's songs.
It's the end of the week already and I realised a few things through the course of the week.
It's difficult to get a group of people to come together and stay united.
Money is just a numbers game.
The Merlion is a jinx.
I am quite easily influenced.
Some things can not be explained.
It's better not to know certain things.
I value innocence in people.
Football is a cruel game.
