Mistake
We got knocked out of the ICS Futsal tournament today in the last-16 round. It was our first match of the day so it was very disappointing to go out after only one match. We lost 1-0 and it was my mistake which caused us to concede the goal. I tried to dribble in my own half and it is something which should not be done. It felt really sick to concede such a stupid goal. It was one of the worst matches I ever played. Even though the opposition was tough and controlled the game, we could at least gone to penalties if not for my mistake. The defeat was hard to take on a personal level as I failed to live up to my own expectations and let the team down. Nonetheless, it was a good learning experience and there is a lot we can learn from the opposing team, especially in the way they move the ball around. It is a depressing day and I thank Jie Sheng for coming down to support us and be our cameraman as well.
Christopher Lee was sent to jail for a month for drink driving and for hitting and running. It was a sentence that he deserved, in my opinion. He deserves it not because he hit someone, but because he ran away from the scene and did not help the victims. It was a cowardly act on his part. Encik used to say that it is ok to make mistakes but you must admit that it is your fault. It's easier said than done but it can be done if you are willing to face up to your own mistake.
Two NSFs were killed when a jet plane crashed into their storeroom in Taiwan. One of them was 23 years old and the other was only 19 years old. Nobody should die this young. They still have a lot of things left unaccomplished. I can fully emphatise with their deaths as I was once a NSF myself. They died while serving their country and in such unusual circumstances as well. I think they were really unlucky. It is a really sad piece of news and only serves to remind us how fragile life is. Nineteen years old is really too young.
