Scared
I just came back from playing at the Cage, an indoor soccer court at Kallang. The timing was very weird, from 1 am to 3 am. And since taking a cab to and fro would cost quite a lot, I asked my dad to let me drive his car there. It was my first time driving to that place and from the map, it looked pretty easy. Just a few turns and I'll reach there. However, real roads look different, especially at night. I was making my final turn into Kallang from Mountbatten Road and because of poor lighting, I made a wrong turn. I turned into a one way road that I thought was two-way. I was absolutely petrified when I realised my mistake. Luckily, it was late at night and there was only one car on the road. I tried to calm my nerves and made a U-turn while the driver of the other car was watching me. The stress was tremendous. I got into the right road the second time and while in there, I made an illegal U-turn while searching for the place. There was a car behind me and I thought it was a civilian car. It turned out to be the traffic police and it followed me for a distance. Fortunately, it went off after a while. I was in bad mental condition to play the matches but even so, my team dominated the games, with a 5 or 6 game winning streak with no goals conceded. I was playing as a centre back and it really felt good keeping clean sheets, making interceptions, making last ditch tackles...The look on the strikers' faces when they got frustrated was my satisfaction. The games ended promptly at 3 and it was quite expensive at 10 dollars each. My journey back was thankfully uneventful.
