Things to ponder
I haven't updated for a long time because I was having my examinations. Technically, I still have a living with chemistry test tomorrow but it's an open book test so it doesn't require me to study much. Now that my examinations are somewhat over, I have the time to post some random thoughts that I entertained during this exam period.
Why are MPSHs called multi purpose sports halls when the majority of students use them more often for exams than for sports? They should be renamed as MPEHs
Why does the department of Biochemistry insist on using the old-fashioned method of posting results on a sheet of paper on the notice board when there is IVLE?
Why do professors like to ask so many questions on little details that people won't bother to remember instead of testing concepts. Why are they forcing us to memorise every word in the textbook? I thought they said at the start of the semester that mugging won't work.
What is the point of studying Organic chemistry?
Why is it that Prof Swami keeps lying to us? Does he get a great sense of satisfaction seeing us studying so hard to memorise endless reactions only to discover that we've studied in vain?
Why are the buses that come during peak hours single decked while the buses during off-peak hours double decked?
How does increasing GST help the poor when everyone has to pay GST?
Why do increases come only after elections?
Why are university students not offered concession rates on public transport?
Why does the science canteen suck so much? By the law of averages, we should at least have one decent stall. But sadly, we don't.
What is the scientific basis for people hitting bus seats to cool them down? Is the process endergonic or exergonic? After a person had sat on a seat, his body heat is transferred to the seat so there is an increase in enthalpy. When a person hits something with his hand, there is also an increase in entropy as mechanical movement is converted to heat, for example when you slap someone , his cheek feels warm. So overall, the reaction should be exergonic and the seat should be warmer. Maybe I should consult IPipedia.
