Man in white

Like any other day, I was on my way to get lunch for myself when I saw something unusual at the lift lobby. There was a young male dressed in a white shirt and white pants sitting on the ledge at the lobby, listening to his MP3 player. Initially, I didn't think much about it and took the lift down. While in the lift, I started to feel uneasy, I began to think that maybe the guy was contemplating suicide. His whole body was on the ledge and he was all alone. The more I thought about it, the more scared I felt. What if he really jumped down? Then I will feel guilty for not being able to prevent him from killing himself. I thought maybe I should call the SCDF or some organisation that can help. My heart was racing when I took the lift back up. I was afraid that after the lift doors open, I will see that guy jumping down. That will be really traumatic. Fortunately, he had climbed down and was walking around on the lift lobby when I next saw him. This episode really made me think about what I should do if someone were to commit suicide. Up till now, I still don't have a clue.
