Good genes
I was watching tv a few days back and MM Lee was on the tv. He was giving a talk at a conference. He touched upon a very sensitive topic again. The graduate issue. He reiterated his point that graduates should marry graduates. He said that if a graduate were to marry a non-graduate, he or she will begin to worry whether their children will be able to go to university. From a evolutionary point of view, this might be true as genes are passed down from generation to generation. But morally, this is contentious. You can't force someone to marry another based on qualifications. Marriage is not a job interview.
If what our MM said is true, then as a patriotic Singaporean, I have a suggestion. We should set up an elite dating agency, specially just for the children of ministers. Then when we breed minister with minister, we will get super-ministers. That will bring our country a big step forward as good leadership is critical to our success.
