Damn the Little Dragon Girls
Chinese women serving drinks at local coffeeshops are now an ubiquitious sight in Singapore. They are younger, prettier and more hardworking than the local girls whom if, judging by what I saw on Frontline(Qian Sian Zui Zong), are old and out-of-shape but have their own special way with guys (referenced from Frontline). With fancy names like Little Swallow, these Chinese talent are enticing guys to buy more drinks from them. And it seems that some of them are targeting old men with money to spare from their CPF accounts.
I recently found out that my own grandfather might be a victim of one of these sweet-talking bloodsuckers. My grandfather has been behaving strangely recently. He seems to have gotten amnesia, even calling me uncle (according to my grandmother). He has been coming up to my house frequently and spoke incoherently in Hokkien instead of our Teochew dialect. He had been talking about some bank account stuff for some time and when my mother went down with him to the bank, it was discovered that his life savings were gone. The bank officer said that he had been withdrawing thousands at a regular basis.
These savings were the result of a lifetime of hard work. My grandfather has been seen hanging out with some China girl before and it is our deduction that he had been cheated. His recent erratic behaviour might also be due to him thinking about the loss of his hard earned money. A tragedy has happened to my family because of one China woman. Multiply it many times over and it is scary thinking what damage these women have done to our families.
