Bon Voyage

The VS gang sending Jeremy off at Terminal 1

Enduring image of Jeremy doing what he loves

Another one of my friends, Jeremy, from our soccer gang left Singapore on Monday. He's going to Ireland to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. It's always sad to send people off, knowing that you will not see them for some time. Although I already knew that he will be leaving since a long time ago, the reality still didn't sink in until he was at the departure gate. Even at the airport, we were all having a good laugh making fun of Qinyao with Mao jokes. It would have been great if we could send him off with laughter instead of sadness. But when I saw him almost in tears when it's time to leave, I found it hard to mask my emotions with laughter. I know soccer and dinner will never be the same again. There will never be a keeper as outstanding as he was. And there will never be someone who can clear a buffet the way that he does. I only begin to think of the difference that someone made to my life only when that someone is leaving. I feel bad about it and I know I should be more appreciative of the people around me. Sometimes, it's difficult to slow down and appreciate people in this fast-paced environment. However, being busy should not be an excuse and I will try my best to do it. I know this sounds sentimental but to all my friends out there, thanks for being around. I know my life will never be the same without any of you.
