Walking down memory lane
I recently saw my primary school friend in the Science canteen. He is now currently studying in Arts and was there to celebrate one of his friend's birthday. I was quite surprised to see him as I haven't seen him for almost 3 or 4 years. Appearance wise, he hasn't changed a bit since our primary school days. Still the same hairstyle. But his voice is a little different now. We chatted for a while and I learnt that he had moved house. I felt guilty that I didn't know that. I have been guilty of not trying to keep in contact with him and my other primary school friends. The last time we met was for a New Year steamboat at another friend's house a few years back. He was one of my better friends in primary school and that only increases my guilt. We were part of a group of 4 that still met up regularly during secondary school even though we were from different schools. The other 2 were taiwanese and he was half taiwanese and so you can say that I had a considerable taiwanese influence early in my life. We chatted for a while and promised to meet up in Arts. As I left school, my mind wandered back to our primary school days which were so distant but still fresh in my mind. I do not wish to write out all my primary school experiences as it would be too long. All I can say it's that those days were the most havoc days of my life. I did a lot of things that I shouldn't. It's probably fair to say that if I haven't met this group of friends, I would be an obedient student. But those misadventures were the sweetest memories of my primary school days. Those are the things that we will all remember fondly as we move on in life. I'm not advocating disobedience but school life certainly is much more fun when you break the rules once in a while.
