Celebrated the perennial drunkard, Kok Wai's birthday last Friday at Marina South. It was a buffet steamboat and barbeque dinner. The food wasn't too good and it was smoky but it was still pretty enjoyable. The most fun came from the live prawns. We had a lot of fun killing the half-dead prawns who offered little resistance except for one. We gave them names of people we don't like and tortured them before we killed them. The most common form of torture is water dunking commando style. Qinyao was appalled by our level of cruelty but proceeded to dish out the worst toruture by giving one of the prawns a 30 second head bashing. I know it sounds cruel but they are going to be killed anyway and they would die a more meaningful death entertaining us. The fun ended after all the prawns were cooked. The drunkard then ordered a few cans of Tiger beer. That day being his birthday celebration, we had no choice but to oblige him. But the Tigers keep on coming and before we know it, most of us were feeling light-headed. We also had to finish the bottle of red wine that Kok Wai brought. We had to restrain him from ordering even more beer when he said we had to go all the way when it comes to drinking. Luckily, we stopped him or else there was no way we would have got home with Jeremy being the only non drinker. I was having a little difficulty walking myself and went to sleep after getting home. The next day I played soccer and realised just what alcohol can do to my concentration. Conceded two stupid goals while playing as goalie as I couldn't focus on the ball. It was embarassing and a lesson learnt. There's no way I'm going to drink so much again before anything physically and mentally demanding. It's something only someone with a liver of steel can do.
